It was just a one night stand…?

In June 2015, my friends and I had visited Byron Bay to attend a music festival. One afternoon, on one of our long beach walks, my friend Maggie and I threw ideas at each other about projects that that could bring us back to Byron. The next few months led us to different parts of the world, Maggie stayed in Australia and I moved to South America. But even from the distance the idea kept growing. I messaged the people that we had dreamt of working with and to my surprise everybody wanted to collaborate. Still in Brazil, I was inspired by an image of John Lennon’s and Yoko Ono’s bed strike. However, Yoko Ono and John Lennon were the perfect couple of a generation. I adapted the scene to something people could relate to by showing two characters, who get to know each other after a one night stand. The beautiful Byron Bay scenery allowed me to place the bed at the beach. Half a year after initially talking about the project, we found ourselves at Broken Head Beach and shot the full story with the very talented Josh Hedge as our photographer.
